NON-FICTION TEXT PRESENTATION

This is a great way to present information in a creative, fun way. The information circles can be easily adapted.   My students and I are really enjoying researching and presenting their non fiction texts and have also included descriptions and poems.  The picture is an example of a simple information circle that I have used as an an example with my students, encouraging them to be imaginative and create theirs in their own style.

Converting Fractions, Decimals and Percentages

I have used this visual strategy to support students converting fractions, decimals and percentages.

When someone says, "I can't do this," just add the word YET

I have used this strategy with several students who have sadly lost confidence in their learning abilities.  Usually I print it off, replacing the word someone with the students name and put it in their folder so they can see it or can I can access it quickly, reminding them that it is o.k not to understand or too find the learning tricky.
